Philippine Airlines Boeing 747-400 RP-C8168 Flight 102 Manila To Los Angeles Smoke In Cockpit Flight Diverted

A Philippine Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration RP-C8168 performing flight 102 ( actual departure Aug 5th) from Manila Philippines to Los Angeles, CA with 449 people on board, was inflight near Sapporo (Japan) when the crew reported smell of smoke in the cockpit and decided to divert to Sapporo for a safe landing about 75 minutes later. Responding emergency services found no trace of fire, heat or smoke.
